Treatment and prevention of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive esophagitis) and H. pylori positive peptic ulcer, treatment and prevention of NSAID-related gastric ulcers
This medication is effective for the treatment and symptom relief of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis. It is also used for the treatment and prevention of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers due to Helicobacter pylori infection. It helps to relieve upper gastrointestinal symptoms caused by NSAID use and treats gastric ulcers, and may also aid in the prevention of ulcers. It is applicable for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and for maintenance therapy after preventing rebleeding in gastric and duodenal ulcers. It is effectively used for various gastrointestinal diseases and related symptoms.
This medication should be swallowed with liquids such as water and must not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - If esophagitis remains untreated or symptoms continue, extend for another 4 weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy for recurrence prevention: Administer 20 mg once daily. - Symptomatic treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 1
Adolescents aged 12 years and older 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - If esophagitis is not treated or symptoms persist, continue for another 4 weeks.
This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to this drug or its components, those allergic to certain antibiotics, lactating women, and those with a history of heart disease should not take it. This medication may present multiple side effects. Common symptoms such as headaches, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and dizziness have been reported, as well as rare severe conditions including blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, and serious skin reactions. Careful observation is necessary, especially if muscle pain or weakness is severe, as this may indicate a serious condition called rhabdomyolysis. Regular monitoring is required for long-term use, and any changes in symptoms during treatment should be consulted with a physician. This drug can interact with other medications, so if you are taking other drugs, you must inform your healthcare provider. Special caution is required when taken with antiviral agents, antibiotics, and anticoagulants. During pregnancy, no specific risks have been identified in animal studies, but it should be administered with caution in pregnant women, and it is advisable to avoid this medication while breastfeeding. As there is no specific antidote for overdose, appropriate treatment should be administered based on symptoms, and the medication should be kept out of reach of children. This drug may increase the risk of bacterial growth in the gastrointestinal tract by inhibiting gastric acid, so you should consult with your healthcare provider if gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea persist. Additionally, long-term high-dose use may increase the risk of fractures, so patients with osteoporosis require regular monitoring. If any unusual symptoms such as skin rash, fever, or difficulty breathing occur during the use of this medication, immediate discontinuation and consultation with a healthcare provider are necessary.
Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis reaction/shock, severe hypomagnesemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, pancreatitis, hepatitis, liver failure, encephalopathy, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), muscle weakness, interstitial nephritis, rhabdomyolysis, severe allergic reactions.
Headache, insomnia, anxiety, confusion, depression, aggression, hallucination, dizziness, drowsiness, taste disorders, blurred vision, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, stomatitis, gastrointestinal candidiasis, dermatitis, itching, rash, hair loss, photosensitivity, fractures, arthralgia, myalgia, gynecomastia, weakness, increased sweating, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, allergic reactions, back pain, chest pain.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture and kept at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage will help maintain the medication's efficacy and prevent deterioration.
