This medication should not be used in patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this drug. Additionally, this drug contains lactose, so it should not be administered to individuals with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients who have had allergies to this drug or similar classes of antibiotics should be particularly cautious and should use it carefully only when necessary. Patients with penicillin allergies should also take precautions when using this drug. Individuals with a predisposition to allergy symptoms such as bronchial asthma, skin rashes, or hives should exercise caution. Patients with severe renal dysfunction may require dosage adjustments and monitoring as this drug is excreted through the kidneys, and excretion may be delayed. Patients who have difficulty taking medication orally, are receiving parenteral nutrition, are elderly, or have poor overall health should be closely monitored for symptoms of vitamin K deficiency. This drug can rarely cause severe shock or acute allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, so if symptoms like discomfort, abnormal sensation in the mouth, wheezing, dizziness, diarrhea, tinnitus, sweating, or other symptoms occur, use should be stopped immediately. If allergic reactions such as skin rashes, hives, red spots, itching, fever, lymphadenopathy, or arthralgia occur, discontinue the drug and seek appropriate treatment. In rare cases, gastrointestinal issues like severe colitis may arise, so if abdominal pain or frequent diarrhea occurs, the drug should be discontinued immediately. Occasionally, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, and discomfort in the stomach may occur. In rare cases, pneumonia or pulmonary tissue inflammation may develop, so if fever, cough, or difficulty breathing arises, discontinue the drug and seek treatment immediately. Blood tests may show eosinophilia, changes in platelet count, or leukopenia, so routine testing is needed. Caution should be exercised when renal function is impaired, as dosage adjustments may not be made leading to cognitive impairment, behavioral changes, or seizures. Skin reactions can occasionally present with severe dermatological diseases, thus skin conditions should be carefully monitored, and drug use should be stopped at the first sign of abnormalities. Liver function test values may increase, and renal function tests may show abnormalities, thus regular monitoring and evaluation are necessary. Oral inflammation or candidiasis may rarely occur due to bacterial imbalance. There may be a bleeding tendency due to vitamin K deficiency, so caution should be taken if bleeding symptoms occur. It is advisable to administer this drug only for the minimal period necessary to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria. It is recommended to conduct thorough medical history and skin testing prior to drug administration to assess the risk of allergic reactions. Dizziness may occur while taking this drug, so caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery. If used for more than 10 days, blood tests to monitor white blood cell counts may be necessary. Patients with reduced renal function should be cautious, as failure to adjust the dosage may lead to seizures, which necessitates immediate cessation of the drug upon occurrence. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this drug only when the benefits outweigh the risks, and nursing mothers should refrain from breastfeeding while using this medication. The safety of this drug in children, especially newborns, premature infants, and infants under 2 months, has not been established, thus caution is necessary when using it in this population. Elderly patients have decreased physiological functions, making them more susceptible to adverse reactions, thus dosages and intervals should be carefully monitored. This medication can interact with other drugs, so caution should be taken when used concurrently with diuretics, aminoglycoside antibiotics, probenecid, antacids, and H2-antagonists. Finally, this drug may affect certain clinical test results during use, so this should be considered when interpreting test outcomes.
