This drug should not be used in patients who have allergic reactions to specific ingredients or have had hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or piperazine derivatives in the past. Patients with severely impaired renal function or those undergoing dialysis should not be administered this drug. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, should avoid taking this drug for safety reasons. Infants under 1 year of age should not use this drug, and it is preferable to administer it in liquid form to children under 6 years old rather than in tablet form. Because this tablet contains lactose, it should not be given to patients with lactose intolerance or specific genetic metabolic disorders. Patients with impaired renal or hepatic function, as well as the elderly, should be administered this drug with caution as it may increase blood concentration. Taking this medication may cause neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, headache, or dizziness, so care should be taken when driving or operating machinery. Avoid taking this medication with alcohol or other drugs that affect the central nervous system as it may exacerbate drowsiness or decrease concentration. Patients at risk of urinary retention should be particularly cautious when taking this drug. This drug may affect allergy test results, so it is advisable to discontinue use before an allergy skin test. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness or restlessness may occur, and since there is no specific antidote, treatment should be symptomatic.
