Precautions

This medication should not be administered by intramuscular injection into the buttock as it poses a risk of tissue damage and necrosis. Long-term use of this medication can lead to elevated lactate levels, potentially resulting in severe metabolic acidosis. The sodium metabisulfite component in this medication can rarely cause allergic reactions or bronchospasm, so individuals who are sensitive, such as asthma patients, should strictly follow their doctor's instructions. Patients allergic to this medication should not use it and may only switch to an alternative medication if one is available. Patients with certain conditions, such as hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular diseases, chronic asthma, or severely impaired kidney function should use this medication cautiously. Various side effects, including elevated blood sugar, anxiety, palpitations, dizziness, and headaches, may occur, and in severe cases, serious issues like arrhythmias or acute myocardial infarction may arise. This medication is used in emergencies, and after administration, it requires careful monitoring and management by medical personnel. When administered intravenously, it can put stress on the heart, thus frequent monitoring of ECG and blood pressure is necessary. Excessive dosage can lead to hypertension, pulmonary edema, and heart problems; therefore, the prescribed dosage must be strictly adhered to. This medication does not directly affect driving or machine operation, but it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery after an anaphylactic reaction. When used with other medications, there is a risk of drug interactions that could lead to cardiac arrhythmias or blood pressure fluctuations, so consultation with healthcare personnel is essential. During pregnancy, it should only be used if necessary as it may affect the fetus, and breastfeeding should be discontinued while using this medication. Overdose may cause severe hypertension and heart problems, necessitating immediate emergency treatment. This medication should be removed from the case immediately prior to use, and any remaining medication should be disposed of. It should be stored out of reach of children, and medications past their designated expiration date should not be used, keeping it in a cool, dark place below 25 degrees Celsius.
