Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients with an allergy or history of hypersensitivity to penicillin drugs. Care must be taken especially in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia due to the increased risk of rash. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should also avoid administration due to the risk of recurrence. Patients with impaired liver function must use this medication cautiously as it can worsen liver function. Patients with moderate to severe renal dysfunction may have increased drug concentrations in the bloodstream, so dosing intervals should be adjusted. Patients with allergic tendencies or symptoms such as bronchial asthma, skin rashes, or urticaria should be cautious due to the higher risk of adverse reactions. Patients who have difficulty with oral intake, elderly patients, or those in poor general condition should be careful due to the risk of bleeding from vitamin K deficiency. Patients experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea should be observed as it may lead to inadequate drug absorption. This medication may cause gastrointestinal side effects including diarrhea, gastritis, vomiting, and abdominal pain; in severe cases, it can lead to pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis. To reduce gastrointestinal side effects, it is advisable to take this medication with meals. Liver function abnormalities may occur, especially in elderly men, necessitating regular liver function tests. Serious skin reactions or hypersensitivity may occur rarely, so if symptoms such as rash, itching, or difficulty breathing arise, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. Blood-related side effects such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia may occur, necessitating testing if abnormal symptoms appear. Rare central nervous system side effects such as headache, dizziness, and seizures may occur, so caution is needed if neurological symptoms arise. Patients with kidney issues may develop acute renal failure or nephritis, requiring regular testing. Antibiotic use may disturb the balance of intestinal bacteria, leading to infections such as candidiasis, so symptoms should be monitored. Symptoms of bleeding tendency due to vitamin K deficiency or vitamin B group deficiency may appear with prolonged use. This medication may interact with other drugs, so patients taking anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory drugs, oral contraceptives, or immunosuppressants should consult their doctor or pharmacist. It is advisable to avoid use in early pregnancy and should only be used during pregnancy when the benefits outweigh the risks under medical supervision. During breastfeeding, the drug can pass into breast milk, potentially causing diarrhea or hypersensitivity in infants, necessitating discontinuation if abnormal symptoms occur. It is not recommended for children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients are at higher risk for side effects due to decreased bodily function, so dosage and intervals must be adjusted while closely monitoring their condition. This medication may affect urine glucose test results, so caution is needed during testing. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, drowsiness, rash, and seizures may occur, requiring immediate discontinuation and necessary treatment. Store in a dry place in a tightly sealed container at or below 25 degrees Celsius. Regularly conduct liver, kidney, and blood function tests during prolonged use.
