Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or its components. It should be used cautiously in patients with liver disease or a history of liver disease, as there may be a risk of worsening liver function, requiring close observation. If rash, urticaria, facial or peripheral edema, itching, etc., occur during the use of this medication, it should be discontinued immediately and medical attention sought. Occasionally, neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, fatigue, headache, dizziness, insomnia, nightmares, and sensory disturbances may occur, so caution is needed. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and dry mouth may rarely occur, and if symptoms persist, consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended. Liver function tests may show elevated levels or symptoms of jaundice, so liver health should be periodically checked and medication should be discontinued if abnormalities arise. Rarely, renal function may be affected, so monitoring for proteinuria is necessary. Symptoms such as frequent urination, hematuria, and cystitis may occur, so any urinary symptoms should be reported to healthcare professionals immediately. Palpitations or respiratory distress, as well as nasal obstruction, may occasionally occur, necessitating caution if these symptoms appear. Thrombocytopenia or leukocytosis may rarely occur in blood tests, and any unusual symptoms should lead to further testing. Symptoms such as gynecomastia, menstrual irregularities, chest pain, and taste changes have been reported rarely, and medical consultation is advised if these symptoms occur. This medication is not a fast-acting agent to relieve asthma attacks, so this should be clearly explained to asthma patients. Patients on long-term steroid therapy taking this medication should adjust steroid dosage gradually and according to a doctor's instructions. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery as drowsiness may occur, but it is generally reported not to significantly impair driving ability. If effects are not observed, do not continue long-term use and consult a doctor. Patients with seasonal allergies should start taking the medication before the worsening of symptoms and continue during the symptomatic period. This medication does not seem to enhance sedation when used with other sedatives or alcohol, but caution is recommended due to limited coadministration experience. This medication is not metabolized by the liver and is mainly excreted from the body, so the possibility of drug interactions with other medications is low. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication if the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety is not established. Breastfeeding women should avoid this medication if possible, or discontinue breastfeeding, as it can be transmitted through breast milk. Caution is needed as safety in children, especially neonates or infants, has not been fully established. The elderly are often at risk for adverse reactions due to decreased liver and kidney function, so symptoms should be closely monitored and dosages adjusted as necessary. In cases of overdose, arrhythmias and other cardiac abnormalities may occur, so if suspected, immediate EKG testing at a hospital and treatments such as gastric lavage or diuresis should be initiated. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and caution should be taken as transferring it to another container may alter its quality. Taking this medication on an empty stomach may increase blood concentration, and depending on the condition, taking it before bedtime or after meals may be effective, so follow the doctor's instructions.
