The daily allowable limit of aspartame should be controlled to below 40 mg/kg as recommended by WHO, and it is safe to take a maximum of 2.4g per day for adults. This medicine is a beta-lactam antibiotic, and patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to this ingredient or penicillin or cephalosporin drugs should not use it. Additionally, patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia have a higher risk of rash, so it is advisable not to use this medicine. Patients with a history of jaundice or liver dysfunction due to this medicine or penicillin should also not be administered as there is a risk of recurrence. Since it contains lactose, it should not be used by patients with genetic diseases such as lactose intolerance, galactose intolerance, lactose enzyme deficiency, and glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with poor liver function should be cautious as their liver function may worsen with the use of this medicine. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment should carefully use this medicine as it may remain in the body for a longer time, adjusting the dosing interval appropriately. Patients who are allergic or frequently exhibit symptoms like bronchial asthma, rash, or hives should be cautious when using this medicine. Patients who have difficulty taking oral medications or are receiving non-oral nutrition, elderly patients, and those in poor general condition may exhibit symptoms of vitamin K deficiency, so caution is necessary. Patients with gastrointestinal symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea may have insufficient absorption of the medication, so caution is needed. This medicine may cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain, and serious side effects, though rare, such as pseudomembranous colitis may occur, so the use should be immediately suspended if severe symptoms appear. Liver function abnormalities have also been reported, particularly in men over 60 years of age, and the risk increases with long-term use. Hypersensitivity reactions can cause skin rashes, hives, and in severe cases, serious allergic reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome or anaphylactic shock. If symptoms occur, medication should be immediately stopped and medical consultation obtained. Blood disorders such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and hemolytic anemia may rarely occur, requiring periodic blood tests. Central nervous system side effects like anxiety, confusion, or seizures may rarely occur, especially in patients with renal impairment or those taking high doses, warranting caution. Acute renal damage may occur, so renal function should be monitored regularly, and if abnormalities are detected, administration should be suspended. This medicine may affect the intestinal microbiota, potentially reducing the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, so patients on contraception should exercise caution. As interactions may occur with other medications, particularly probenecid, allopurinol, disulfiram, and anticoagulants, patients should inform healthcare providers and exercise caution when used together. It is advisable not to use it during the first three months of pregnancy, and pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a physician before administration. Safety for premature infants or newborns under 2 months has not been established, so it is preferable not to use it in these cases.
