Prevention and improvement of symptoms of allergic rhinitis and sinusitis (including nasal polyps).
This medication is used for adults and children aged 2 years and older for the symptoms of seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis, and can be taken prior to exposure to allergens for prevention. It is also effective for the treatment of nasal polyps in adults aged 18 and older. This medication is used for the treatment of acute sinusitis in adults and adolescents aged 12 and older who do not have severe bacterial infections. It helps improve various symptoms of rhinitis and sinusitis.
1. Allergic Rhinitis Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents aged 12 and older: Generally, spray twice in each nostril once daily (total daily dose of 0.2 mg). If symptoms improve, the maintenance dose can be reduced to one spray in each nostril (total daily dose of 0.1 mg). If symptoms do not improve, the dose can be increased to a maximum of four sprays in each nostril once daily (total daily dose of 0.4 mg).
Allergic Rhinitis Children aged 2 to 11 years: Spray once in each nostril once daily (total daily dose of 0.1 mg).
This medication should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction to this drug or any of its components. Patients with untreated infections in the nasal mucosa, recent nasal surgery, or nasal wounds must consult with a healthcare provider before using this medication. It is not safe to use this medication in children under 2 years of age. Caution should be exercised in patients with active tuberculosis or untreated systemic infections, and in patients with ocular herpes infections, as there may be a risk of bleeding in those with recurrent nosebleeds. Patients who may be exposed to chickenpox or measles also require caution due to the risk of infection when using this medication. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women and breastfeeding women should consult with a doctor before using this medication. This medication may cause side effects such as itching, irritation, and dryness in the nasal and pharyngeal areas, and it may rarely result in symptoms such as hives, nosebleeds, headaches, or cough. Prolonged use at high doses may lead to systemic corticosteroid side effects, requiring regular check-ups. If inflammation or Candida infection occurs in the nasal mucosa, discontinue use and seek appropriate treatment. This medication may be associated with changes in vision or ocular diseases such as glaucoma and cataracts; if there are abnormalities in vision, consult an eye specialist immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, particularly increasing the risk of side effects when used with CYP3A4 inhibitors. Pediatric patients should be regularly monitored for growth delays. Elderly patients should use it with caution due to potentially different drug responses from decreased bodily function. In cases of overdose, special treatment is typically not needed; however, long-term excessive use may suppress adrenal function, so caution is advised. Before use, shake the container well and perform a test spray to ensure uniform spraying, avoiding direct spraying into the eyes or nasal septum. Keep out of reach of children and ensure regular medical checks during prolonged use are important.
