This medication can be administered quickly via intravenous injection when there is pain or high fever, especially when it is difficult to take medication by other routes. It is used to alleviate moderate pain, particularly pain occurring after surgery, in a short period. Additionally, it is effective in lowering body temperature for a short duration when fever is present. This method of treatment rapidly improves symptoms and reduces patient discomfort. Therefore, this drug is used to quickly control pain and fever after surgeries.
Adults weighing 50kg and above: take 1000mg of acetaminophen, up to 4 times a day, with a minimum interval of 4 hours between doses. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 4 grams. For patients with severe renal impairment: a dosing interval of at least 6 hours is preferable. Administration method: this drug is administered via intravenous infusion over 15 minutes.
Children weighing 33kg (around 11 years) and above, and adults weighing less than 50kg: administer approximately 15mg/kg (this medication is 1.5ml/kg) per dose, with a minimum dosing interval of 4 hours.
This drug must be administered with extreme caution, as confusion between milligram and milliliter dosage units can lead to severe poisoning or death. Once oral medication can be taken, it is advisable to switch to appropriate analgesics immediately. Check other medications to ensure they do not contain the same active ingredient to prevent overdose. Exceeding the recommended dosage can cause severe damage to the liver, with liver damage symptoms usually appearing between 4 to 6 days. Patients with poor liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and those on high doses for an extended period should undergo regular liver function tests. People who frequently consume alcohol should definitely consult a specialist before taking this drug, as failing to do so increases the risk of liver damage. If severe rashes, blisters, or red spots occur on the skin after taking this medication, discontinue it immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or those with certain conditions (peptic ulcer, severe liver disease, kidney impairment, heart dysfunction, etc.) should not use this medication. Patients currently taking specific medications or consuming alcohol should also avoid this drug for safety reasons. Patients with liver or kidney problems, the elderly, children, pregnant or breastfeeding women must use this medication cautiously and follow a healthcare specialist's guidance if necessary. Side effects such as nausea, vomiting, skin rash, abnormal blood counts, liver function abnormalities may occur infrequently during the administration of this drug, so report any unusual symptoms to a healthcare professional immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, thus it is essential to inform about other medications being taken, especially certain antibiotics, anticoagulants, or anticonvulsants, when using this drug. Although this medication does not affect driving or operating machinery, it should not be mixed with other medications. Children and the elderly should use the minimum dosage and carefully monitor their status after administration. During pregnancy, the benefits and risks of this drug should be evaluated before use, and while breastfeeding, although a small amount may be excreted in breast milk, reports of adverse reactions are rare. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should increase the interval between doses and seek immediate medical attention for detoxification in cases of overdose. This drug should not be stored above 30 degrees Celsius, refrigeration or freezing should be avoided, and prior to administration, check for any foreign substances or discoloration. Any unused solution should be discarded and used only once.
