Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis. Abnormal psychiatric symptoms may occur during use, so both the patient and caregiver should pay attention to changes in mental state such as restlessness, anxiety, depression, hallucinations, and suicidal thoughts. This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, so patients with phenylketonuria should avoid it. Since it contains lactose, patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take this medication. During use, side effects such as fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, indigestion, rash, cough, and nasal congestion may occur, so it is important to monitor the condition. This medication is not a treatment for acute asthma attacks, so appropriate emergency medication should always be kept on hand in case of acute symptoms. Inhaled corticosteroids should not be abruptly discontinued or replaced with this medication, and it is not suitable for use alone for exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. Patients with aspirin hypersensitivity should avoid taking aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs while on this medication. Rarely, systemic eosinophilia and vasculitis symptoms may occur; therefore, if any skin rash or worsening of pulmonary symptoms occurs, consult a doctor. This medication has little drug interaction when used with other asthma treatments; however, monitoring is necessary according to the physician's directions when combined with certain medications. Use during pregnancy should only occur when necessary, and caution is advised during breastfeeding. Children and elderly patients can also use it, but appropriate dosage and caution should be exercised according to age. There is no specific antidote for overdose, so general symptomatic treatment and monitoring should be implemented if necessary. Keep out of reach of children, and be careful not to transfer to other containers. This medication should be taken consistently even if there are no symptoms, and if psychiatric symptoms appear during use, consult a doctor immediately.
