Precautions

This drug works by binding to specific proteins and inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, thus killing the bacteria. Before using this drug, it is essential to inform if you have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this drug or similar antibiotics. Also, patients with a genetic inability to break down lactose should not use this drug due to its lactose content. Particular caution should be exercised in patients who are allergic to penicillin antibiotics or have a tendency for allergic reactions such as asthma, rashes, or hives. Patients with severely impaired kidney function or elderly patients, as well as those with poor nutritional status, should be carefully monitored while using this drug. While taking this medication, rare but severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver or kidney function disturbances, gastrointestinal problems, central nervous system symptoms, etc., may occur, so consult a doctor immediately if any symptoms arise. This drug must be used only for the necessary minimum period to prevent the development of resistant bacteria, and it is advisable to perform susceptibility testing for the infectious bacteria before treatment. When taken with other medications, interactions may occur; therefore, especially if you are taking medications that affect the kidneys or anticoagulants, or oral contraceptives, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this drug cautiously only if necessary, and its safety has not been established for newborns or infants under one month old. Elderly patients may show adverse reactions more easily due to decreased body function, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted, and careful monitoring is required. During the use of this drug, some urine test results may be falsely indicated, so be sure to inform about the use of this drug during tests.
