This medication is used when quick relief is needed for severe pain or high fever, particularly for short-term treatment of moderate pain and fever post-surgery. It is mainly administered intravenously and can also be effectively used when other routes of drug administration are difficult. This treatment rapidly improves patient discomfort.

How it is given

Adult administration

Adults weighing 50kg or more: Administer 1000mg of acetaminophen per dose, up to 4 times a day, with a minimum interval of 4 hours between doses. The maximum daily dose shall not exceed 4 grams. Children weighing 33kg or more, and adults weighing less than 50kg: Administer approximately 15mg/kg of acetaminophen (1.5ml/kg) per dose, with minimum 4 hours intervals. The maximum daily dose is 60mg/kg or shall not exceed 4 grams. Precautions

This medication must be administered with precise measurement of the dosage, and care should be taken to avoid confusing milligrams with milliliters. When oral administration becomes possible, it is advisable to use an appropriate analgesic immediately. Ensure that this medication's active ingredient is not also present in other medications to avoid overdose. Exceeding the recommended dosage can cause severe liver damage; therefore, patients with liver function problems should consult a doctor. Symptoms of liver damage may appear between 2 to 6 days after administration, and if any abnormal symptoms arise, immediate treatment should be sought. Regular drinkers of alcohol should definitely consult with a professional before taking this medication, as the risk of liver damage is increased. Rarely, serious skin reactions can occur; if skin rash or hypersensitivity arises, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Patients with allergies to this medication or its components, peptic ulcers, or serious liver, kidney, or heart diseases should not take this medication. It is also safest for patients with aspirin-induced asthma or those taking certain medications to avoid this medication. Patients with liver or kidney function issues, the elderly, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children should use this medication with caution and consult a physician if necessary. Patients with blood disorders or bleeding tendencies should also take care. This medication can rarely cause side effects such as low blood pressure, increase in liver enzyme levels, agranulocytosis, neutropenia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, neurological disorders, maculopapular rash, injection site pain, burning sensation, maculopapular rash, pseudo-pemphigus response, pustular rash, nausea, vomiting, headache, constipation, phlegm, sensory disturbances, dizziness, decreased hemoglobin, urinary disturbances, tachycardia, nausea, vomiting, erythema, flushing, itching, or rashes. It can interact with other medications; if you are taking any other drugs, inform your doctor or pharmacist. Caution is especially needed when taking with medications that may affect liver function. It does not affect driving or machinery operation, but this medication should not be mixed with other medications. In the case of an infection, appropriate treatment should be carried out according to a physician's instructions. During pregnancy, the benefits and risks of this medication should be carefully assessed before taking it, and while breastfeeding, a small amount may be excreted in breast milk with no reported adverse reactions. Children must have their dosage and administration intervals adjusted due to pharmacokinetic differences from adults. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should have their dosing intervals extended. In case of overdose, symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and abdominal pain, and in severe cases, liver damage and brain dysfunction may occur, requiring immediate hospital treatment. This medication should not be stored at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, and refrigeration or freezing should be avoided. Check for impurities or discoloration before use. It is for single use only; any remaining solution after use should be discarded.

Hives, shock, acute renal failure, Lyell's syndrome, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, fulminant hepatitis, liver necrosis, liver failure, angioedema, anaphylactic shock, anaphylaxis, hypersensitivity reactions requiring discontinuation of treatment, thrombocytopenia, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain, difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, liver dysfunction (jaundice), severe swelling or abdominal pain.
