Adult administration
1. Treatment of herpes simplex virus infections. Administer Acyclovir as 200 mg five times a day at 4-hour intervals for 5 days, and the treatment may be extended for severe primary infections. For severely immunocompromised patients or those with gastrointestinal absorption disorders, the dose may be increased to 400 mg for each administration or switched to intravenous administration. It is best to administer it as soon as possible after infection appears, and in recurrent cases, it is preferable to take it at the first signs of symptoms.
Child administration
1. Treatment of herpes simplex infections and prevention of herpes simplex infections in patients with impaired immune function. In children over 2 years old, the dosage is equivalent to that of adults. For children under 2 years old, half the adult dose is administered. 2. For children 2 years and older.

This medicine treats and prevents infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, including primary and recurrent genital herpes. It is also effective for relief of acute pain from shingles virus infections. However, its effectiveness for postherpetic neuralgia has not yet been clearly established. Additionally, it is used for the treatment of chickenpox in children over 2 years old. It helps effectively treat a variety of viral infections.

How it is given

Adult administration

1. Treatment of herpes simplex virus infections. Administer Acyclovir as 200 mg five times a day at 4-hour intervals for 5 days, and the treatment may be extended for severe primary infections. Precautions

To maximize treatment effectiveness, it is important to start taking the medication early when symptoms first appear, particularly in the case of chickenpox or herpes where it should be taken as soon as possible after symptoms develop. Adequate hydration is necessary while taking this medication, and especially with high doses, it is important to drink plenty of water to prevent kidney toxicity. Caution is necessary when driving or operating hazardous machinery as consciousness disturbances may occur. This medicine can interact with other drugs, so you must inform your healthcare professional about any other medications you are currently taking, especially when taking medications that affect kidney function as there is an increased risk of kidney deterioration. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medicine cautiously, and those who are breastfeeding are advised to discontinue use.
