This medication is primarily used to prevent and continuously treat asthma. It also helps alleviate symptoms of seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis. Therefore, it is effective in improving discomfort caused by asthma and allergic rhinitis.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is taken once daily. Asthma patients should take it in the evening. Allergy rhinitis patients should determine the dosing time according to the patient's condition. Patients with both asthma and allergic rhinitis should take 1 tablet, 1 packet, or 1 sheet in the evening, once daily. Adults and adolescents aged 15 and older should take 10 mg of montelukast orally once a day.

Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of respiratory diseases such as asthma and allergic rhinitis. Rarely, neuropsychiatric adverse effects may occur during use, so patients and caregivers should carefully observe for changes in mental state such as anxiety, depression, hallucinations, or suicidal thoughts. If such symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which should be avoided by patients with a genetic disorder known as phenylketonuria. For formulations containing lactose, patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take this medication.
