Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to penicillin class drugs. Special caution should be taken with patients who have infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as there is a higher risk of rash. Patients with liver function issues or a history of liver dysfunction should use it cautiously due to the potential for recurrence. Dose adjustment or dosing interval change is required for patients with liver or kidney impairments, and caution is needed for allergic individuals. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and gastrointestinal adverse reactions can be alleviated by taking the medication with meals. Liver function abnormalities are more common in elderly and male patients, and regular liver function tests should be performed during long-term use. Rarely, severe skin reactions or hypersensitivity reactions like anaphylaxis may occur; if symptoms like rash or difficulty breathing arise, administration should be discontinued immediately. Blood disorders such as leukopenia or thrombocytopenia may occur, necessitating examination and treatment for abnormal symptoms. Central nervous system symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and convulsions are rarely reported and require caution in patients with kidney dysfunction or those receiving high doses. Patients with decreased kidney function may be at risk for acute kidney failure or nephritis, so regular monitoring and testing are essential. If diarrhea or abdominal pain worsens during antibiotic use, there is a possibility of pseudomembranous colitis, and medical advice should be sought immediately. This drug may interact with other medications, especially anticoagulants, specific antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory drugs, and caution should be exercised when combined. Administration should be avoided in early pregnancy, and monitoring is necessary during breastfeeding for any adverse reactions in the infant. It is not recommended for children under 12 years or weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients have decreased renal and liver function, increasing the risk of adverse reactions, thus requiring careful adjustment of dosage and intervals. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms and kidney failure, convulsions, etc., may occur, and administration should be stopped immediately for appropriate treatment. This drug should be stored in a sealed container to prevent moisture, and kept in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius. Long-term use may lead to the development of resistant bacteria, making regular liver and kidney function tests important.
