This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension who find it difficult to control blood pressure with monotherapy of amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil, helping to effectively lower and manage blood pressure. Such treatment contributes to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and overall health improvement.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered once daily, one tablet with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on monotherapy with 5 mg of amlodipine or 20 mg of olmesartan medoxomil. - 10/20 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on 20 mg of olmesartan medoxomil monotherapy.

Child dose

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or even death to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be stopped immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with hypersensitivity to any component of this medication, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients with severe liver dysfunction, severe aortic stenosis, biliary obstruction, renal dialysis, in shock, certain diabetic patients, and those with kidney dysfunction should not take this medication. Patients who are depleted of fluids or salt, those with vasodilation, severe coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, impaired kidney function, liver dysfunction, etc. should use this medication with increased caution, and their condition must be closely monitored. This medication may cause various side effects, such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, dyspepsia, rash, myalgia, erectile dysfunction, so if any abnormal symptoms occur, consult a doctor immediately. It is advised not to use this medication during pregnancy, especially after the second trimester due to a high risk of fetal harm. Breastfeeding women are recommended to stop breastfeeding or discontinue the medication, as it can be transmitted through breast milk to the baby and affect them. It is not recommended for children under 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy have not been established. For the elderly, it should be initiated at a low dose, considering the possibility of impaired kidney and liver function, and it should be administered cautiously. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, vascular dilation, and tachycardia may occur, so it is essential to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and visit a medical facility immediately if overdosing occurs. This medication should be stored away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight, and it should be kept out of reach of children. Transferring to other containers should be avoided. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive agents or specific drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Suddenly stopping beta-blockers can be dangerous, so if discontinuing beta-blocker treatment, the dosage should be reduced gradually. If severe diarrhea occurs similar to chronic malabsorption syndrome, this medication should be discontinued and a healthcare provider consulted. Patients with cardiovascular diseases should be cautious not to have excessively low blood pressure, and regular check-ups and monitoring may be necessary.
