This medication is used to relieve various symptoms of cold including runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

15 years and older: 2 capsules, taken three times a day, 30 minutes after meals

Child dose

Children over 7 years and under 15 years: 1 capsule, taken three times a day, 30 minutes after meals

Precautions

This medication may put strain on the liver, so those who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Due to the ingredients in this medication, serious skin reactions may occur rarely, so if a rash or allergic symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. Since it contains acetaminophen, caution must be taken not to exceed the maximum daily dosage, and it should not be taken together with other acetaminophen-containing products. One of the ingredients, pseudoephedrine, can cause severe skin reactions, so if symptoms such as fever, red spots, or pustules appear, stop taking the medication and consult a specialist. Persons with allergies to this medication or its components, those with a history of asthma attacks occurring from the use of this medication or similar medications, infants under three months of age, those currently taking or recently discontinuing certain antidepressants or psychiatric medications, and individuals with severe hypertension or kidney disease should not take this medication. Also, care should be taken to avoid taking this medication with cough syrups, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, and antihistamines. Children suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, individuals with allergic tendencies or a history of drug allergies, those with diseases affecting the liver, kidneys, heart, or thyroid, and pregnant or nursing women must consult a specialist before taking this medication. If unusual symptoms such as rash, itching, vomiting, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. Children under two years of age should not use this medication and should receive medical attention if necessary. When taking, strictly follow the prescribed dosage and administration, avoid prolonged use, and refrain from alcohol consumption. Caution is also advised as drowsiness may occur, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided. There may be risks of side effects when taking this medication with certain antidepressants or antibiotics; caution is necessary. When storing, keep out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container. Also, to maintain quality, do not transfer the medication to another container from its original packaging.

  • Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, cold sweat, pallor → severe allergic reaction
  • Severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa → severe skin abnormal reaction
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attack, respiratory problems accompanied by cough + fever → respiratory issues
  • Jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), profound lethargy → liver dysfunction (jaundice)
  • Sudden and very severe headache

Mild side effects

Rash, redness (flushing), itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling, difficulty urinating, dry mouth, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with MAO inhibitors (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anti-Parkinson drugs, etc.), cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, and antihistamines. Do not use this medication within two weeks of discontinuing MAO inhibitors. It should not be taken with diabetes medications, gout medications, arthritis medications, anticoagulants, steroids, barbiturates, or tricyclic antidepressants.

Food interactions

Storage
