Improvement of gastrointestinal diseases such as treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive esophagitis) and treatment of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcer.
This drug is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis, and is effective for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in esophagitis patients. It also helps alleviate symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. Included in antibiotic combination therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori, it contributes to the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal and peptic ulcers. It is effective for the treatment of upper gastrointestinal symptoms and gastric ulcers associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and for the prevention of related ulcers. It is also used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for maintenance therapy after preventing rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers, improving the patient's condition.
This drug should be swallowed with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence after treatment of esophagitis: 20 mg once daily - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily - If necessary, 20 mg can be given once daily as needed.
Adolescents over 12 years: - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily - Continued symptomatic control
This drug should not be administered to certain patients. For example, individuals with hypersensitivity to this drug or any of its components, or those who have had such reactions in the past, should not take this drug. Additionally, patients with allergies to penicillin and macrolide antibiotics should not use this drug when combined with amoxicillin or clarithromycin for Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy. This drug should also not be administered to patients with certain heart diseases, nursing mothers, or patients taking certain antiviral drugs (e.g., atazanavir, nelfinavir, rilpivirine). Caution is necessary as various adverse reactions may occur while taking this drug. Common adverse reactions include headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting. Rarely, blood abnormalities, hypomagnesemia, confusion, allergic reactions, liver function abnormalities, skin rashes, myalgia, may occur. Particularly with long-term use, electrolyte abnormalities such as hypomagnesemia may appear, necessitating regular blood tests. This drug suppresses gastric acid secretion, thereby increasing the risk of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, long-term use may elevate the risk of fractures, so patients at risk of osteoporosis should exercise caution. This drug may interact with other medications, so especially when used with anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, antiviral drugs, and antibiotics, consultations with a physician or pharmacist are advised. Data on the safety of this drug during pregnancy are limited, thus pregnant women should consult a professional before taking this drug. Nursing women are advised not to take this drug. In cases of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and appropriate treatment should be sought according to the symptoms, keeping it out of reach of children in a safe place. This drug should be used only for the minimum necessary dose and duration, and it is important to immediately consult medical personnel if there are any changes in symptoms.
Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylactic reaction, shock, hyponatremia, hypomagnesemia, confusion, aggression, hallucinations, pancreatitis, hepatitis, hepatic failure, encephalopathy, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), interstitial nephritis, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, severe allergic responses.
Headache, dizziness, paresthesia, drowsiness, taste disturbances, blurred vision, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, stomatitis, gastrointestinal candidiasis, increased liver enzymes, dermatitis, itching, rash, hair loss, photosensitivity, fractures, arthralgia, myalgia, muscle weakness, asthenia, increased sweating, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, abdominal bloating, allergic reactions, back pain, chest pain, substernal pain, facial pain.

This drug may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. It is also important to maintain a room temperature between 1°C and 30°C when storing the drug. This will help keep the drug effective for a long time.
