It is also used for upper respiratory infections such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, and sinusitis, as well as lower respiratory infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and pulmonary abscess. It is helpful for treating urinary tract infections including pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis, and gonococcal urethritis. Additionally, it is indicated for scarlet fever, peritonitis, liver abscess, osteomyelitis, and intrauterine infections. This medication is a reliable choice for treating various infectious diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children weighing 20 kg or more should be given 250 to 500 mg (as potency) once every 8 hours.

Child dose

Children weighing less than 20 kg should be administered 20 to 40 mg (as potency) per kg of body weight in three divided doses per day.

Precautions

This medication is an antibiotic containing amoxicillin and should not be used by certain patients. For example, individuals who have experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this medication or those who have hypersensitivity to penicillin antibiotics should not take this medication.
