Relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria
This medication alleviates symptoms caused by seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis and reduces discomfort associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria. It also helps improve symptoms of dermatitis and eczema accompanied by itching. It is effectively used for various allergies and skin conditions.
Adults and children aged 6 years and older: 1 tablet (5 mg Levocetirizine Hydrochloride) orally once daily, regardless of meals. Dosage adjustments should be made according to kidney function. Normal kidney function (≥ 90 mL/min): 1 tablet, once daily Mildly impaired kidney function (60 -< 90 mL/min): 1 tablet, once daily Moderately impaired kidney function (30 -< 60 mL/min): 1 tablet, every other day Severely impaired kidney function
Children aged 6 years and older: 1 tablet (5 mg Levocetirizine Hydrochloride) orally once daily, regardless of meals.
This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to specific ingredients or those with hypersensitivity. It should not be used by individuals with end-stage kidney disease or those undergoing dialysis. It must not be administered to infants under 1 year of age, and children under 6 years old should take it only in liquid form. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should avoid it. Patients with impaired kidney or liver function and the elderly should use it with caution as blood concentration may increase. Side effects such as drowsiness, headaches, dizziness, nausea, and dyspepsia may occur, and in rare cases, symptoms like arrhythmia or skin rash may also develop. Caution is required while driving or operating machinery as drowsiness or fatigue may occur. Co-administration with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can intensify drowsiness, so it is advisable not to take them together. Individuals with urinary elimination issues or epilepsy should consult a physician before taking this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication with caution and should consult a doctor as it may affect the baby. Children or elderly individuals may require a dosage adjustment, so they should take it as directed by healthcare professionals. Discontinuation of this medication before allergy testing is necessary to avoid affecting test results. Overdose may result in drowsiness or restlessness, and there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment should be sought immediately at a hospital.
