Prevention and improvement of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and sinusitis (including polyps).
This medication is used to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial rhinitis, nasal polyps, and acute sinusitis. It can be used prophylactically 2 to 4 weeks before expected allergen exposure in cases of seasonal allergic rhinitis symptoms, helping to effectively alleviate symptoms associated with rhinitis. It is also applicable for the treatment of nasal polyps and acute sinusitis without severe bacterial infections. Overall, this medication is used to improve symptoms of allergic and inflammatory rhinitis.
Allergic rhinitis: Spray twice for each nostril once daily (total daily dose 0.2 mg). If symptoms improve, the frequency can be reduced to once for each nostril (total daily dose 0.1 mg). If symptoms do not improve, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 4 sprays (total daily dose 0.4 mg) for each nostril once daily. Nasal polyps: Spray twice for each nostril once daily (total daily dose 0.2 mg).
Allergic rhinitis: Spray once for each nostril once daily (total daily dose 0.1 mg).
This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or its components, or in those with untreated local infections. Patients who have recently undergone nasal surgery or have nasal diseases, septal ulcers, or nasal trauma should refrain from using it until wound healing is complete. It should not be administered to infants under 2 years of age. Patients with active or latent tuberculosis, systemic infections, or herpes simplex in the eyes should use it cautiously, and those with recurrent nosebleeds should be aware of the potential for worsening bleeding. Patients at risk for chickenpox or measles should also exercise caution, and the efficacy of this medication has not been sufficiently studied in patients with unilateral nasal polyps or cystic fibrosis-related nasal polyps. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should use it cautiously after consulting with a physician. This medication can cause side effects such as headache, nosebleeds, cough, upper respiratory infections, and rarely severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis; if any unusual symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. Prolonged high-dose use may lead to systemic side effects, so monitoring is necessary. Regular examinations or treatments should be sought if there are symptoms of nasal infection or abnormal changes in the nasal mucosa. Patients at high risk for exposure to chickenpox or measles should focus on infection prevention and early diagnosis, and effects may not appear within the first 48 hours after initial administration. When administered to children, regular monitoring for growth delays is necessary, and it is recommended to use the minimum effective dose. Elderly patients should be monitored closely for changes in physiological functions. There is no specific treatment required for overdose, but systemic corticosteroid side effects may occur, so caution is advised. Before use, shake the container well and perform a test spray; do not spray directly into the eyes or nasal septum but use it only in the nasal cavity.
