This medication is used for respiratory diseases where sputum discharge is difficult, such as acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis.

How to take

Adult dose

Acute conditions: Take 200 mg three times a day. Chronic conditions: Take 200 mg twice a day.

Child dose

Acute conditions (ages 6-14): Take 200 mg twice a day. Chronic conditions (ages 6-14): Take 100 mg three times a day. Cystic fibrosis (ages 6 and over): Take 200 mg three times a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to this medication or any ingredients contained within it. Also, patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should not take this medication. Children under 2 years old should not take this medication. This medication contains lactose, so individuals with a genetic inability to digest lactose should also avoid taking it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication. Nursing women should also take care as it is uncertain if this medication passes into breast milk. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, heartburn, or diarrhea occur during the course of this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a specialist. Additionally, if urticaria, itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, or worsening of breathing difficulties or asthma symptoms occur, stop taking it immediately. Rarely, this medication may cause rapid heartbeat or high blood pressure, so caution is advised. If difficulty in breathing occurs, stop taking it immediately and consult a specialist. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of some oral antibiotics, so it is advisable to take them at least 2 hours apart. It is also safe not to mix this medication solution with other drugs. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and storing it in its original packaging is important to maintain the quality of the drug and prevent misuse.
