Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame and should not be administered to patients with phenylketonuria, a genetic disorder, as aspartame is metabolized into phenylalanine, which can be harmful to these patients. This medication should not be given to patients with a hypersensitivity to this drug or any of its components. While taking this medication, various adverse reactions such as fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, cough, fever, and rash may occur. If symptoms persist or worsen, it is essential to consult a doctor immediately. Particularly for asthma patients, this medication is not a treatment for acute asthma attacks, so a separate fast-acting inhaler must be kept on hand for emergencies. During the course of taking this medication, inhaled corticosteroids should not be abruptly discontinued or substituted but should be adjusted gradually according to a doctor's instructions. Patients with hypersensitivity to aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not take such medications concurrently while on this drug. Rarely, symptoms related to eosinophilia-associated vasculitis may occur, so patients should seek medical attention if respiratory symptoms worsen or if skin rashes develop. No specific interactions have been reported when taken with other medications, but caution is advised when used with enzyme inducers such as phenobarbital, rifampicin, and phenytoin. During pregnancy or breastfeeding, the necessity of this medication must be carefully considered, and especially in the early stages of pregnancy, consultation with a doctor is necessary. This medication can be safely used in children and elderly patients, but its safety and efficacy have not been established in children under 6 months of age, so it is not recommended for this group. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so symptomatic treatment should be provided, following the doctor's instructions. This medication is light-sensitive, so it should be opened just before use and taken immediately after opening, and stored out of reach of children. Lastly, this medication should be taken continuously even when asthma symptoms are not present, and if symptoms worsen or abnormal symptoms occur while taking it, a doctor should be consulted.
