Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. It should not be administered to individuals with allergies to the active ingredients or similar substances, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe liver dysfunction, aortic stenosis, biliary obstruction, kidney dialysis patients, patients in shock, and certain diabetic patients. Patients with low blood pressure due to fluid or salt depletion should be monitored closely at the start of treatment as they may experience too low blood pressure, and appropriate measures should be taken if hypotension occurs. This medication has vasodilatory effects and can cause acute hypotension in some patients, so caution is advised for those with heart valve issues or obstructive coronary artery disease. It should be used with caution in patients with heart failure and may pose a risk of worsening kidney function in patients with impaired kidney function, requiring regular monitoring. Caution is also necessary for patients with decreased liver function, as side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, dyspepsia, and rash may occur; these symptoms should prompt consultation with a physician. This medication is not the same as beta-blockers, but caution is required regarding the risks associated with abruptly discontinuing beta-blockers, and regular checks of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte status are essential. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, and individuals planning to become pregnant or currently pregnant should consult a physician. During breastfeeding, it may be transmitted through breast milk and affect the infant; thus, discontinuing breastfeeding or the medication is recommended. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established for children under 18 years of age. Elderly patients may have decreased kidney and liver function, so it is important to start at a low dose and carefully adjust the dosage. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop excessively, so immediate medical attention is required, and this medication may not be effectively removed by hemodialysis. Store this medication out of the reach of children, protect it from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight, and avoid transferring it to other containers.
