This medication is used to improve sputum discharge difficulties in diseases such as acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis.

How to take

Adult dose

For acute conditions in adults: 200 mg per dose, three times a day For chronic conditions in adults: 200 mg per dose, twice a day

Child dose

For acute conditions in children aged 6 to 14 years: 200 mg per dose, twice a day For chronic conditions in children aged 6 to 14 years: 100 mg per dose, three times a day For cystic fibrosis in children over 6 years: 200 mg per dose, three times a day

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to this medication or any components contained in it. Additionally, patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should avoid taking it, and children under 2 years old should not use it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication after consulting a doctor, as its safety has not been sufficiently established. Breastfeeding women should also take this medication cautiously as it is uncertain whether it passes into breast milk. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, mouth inflammation, heartburn, or diarrhea appear during use, or if allergic symptoms like skin rash, itching, headache, tinnitus, or breathing difficulty occur, the medication should be stopped immediately, and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. Additionally, it is important to note that rarely, this medication can cause an increased heart rate or elevated blood pressure. When taking this medication with other oral antibiotics, the effectiveness of the antibiotics may decrease, so it should be taken with at least a 2-hour interval. Mixing this medication's solution with other medications should be avoided, and it should be stored in a safe place out of the reach of children. Lastly, keeping the medication in its original container is essential; transferring it to another container may compromise its quality or lead to misuse.
