This medication is used to relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial rhinitis in adults and children over 2 years of age. Patients with moderate to severe seasonal allergic rhinitis can take it prophylactically 2 to 4 weeks before the onset of the allergen, such as pollen. It is also used for the treatment of nasal polyps in adults over 18 years old. Additionally, it helps improve symptoms of acute rhinosinusitis in adults and adolescents over 12 years old without severe bacterial infection. Through these effects, it can effectively manage allergy and rhinitis-related symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be given to patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, have untreated infections in the nasal mucosa, have recently undergone nasal surgery or have nasal trauma, or to infants under 2 years old. Additionally, patients with tuberculosis or systemic infections, with herpes simplex in the eyes, frequent nosebleeds, those potentially exposed to chickenpox or measles, individuals with certain types of nasal polyps, or pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication with caution. While using this medication, side effects such as headache, nosebleeds, pharyngitis, cough, and upper respiratory infections may occur; therefore, consultation with a physician is advised if any unusual symptoms arise. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as bronchospasm or anaphylaxis can occur, so caution is necessary. Using high doses for an extended period can have systemic effects; therefore, it should be used according to a doctor's instructions, and any symptoms of infection or abnormalities in the nasal mucosa should be reported immediately to healthcare professionals. Long-term use of this medication requires regular checks to assess changes in the nasal mucosa, and if a local fungal infection occurs, it should be discontinued or treated appropriately. When administering to children, regular growth monitoring is necessary to address potential growth delays, and it is important to use the minimum effective dose. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should always consult with a doctor before using this medication, considering its effects on the fetus or infant. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially with CYP3A4 inhibitors, increasing the risk of side effects; thus caution is needed. Before use, shake the container well, and if there has been a long interval without use, perform a test spray to ensure proper spraying. Care should be taken to avoid direct spraying into the eyes or the nasal septum. Keep this medication out of reach of children, and while excessive use does not usually require special treatment, systemic corticosteroid side effects may occur, requiring adherence to medical recommendations. The effects on driving or operating machinery are unknown; however, caution is advised if symptoms occur.
