This medication is used to improve symptoms of difficulty expectorating in acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, cystic fibrosis, etc.

How to take

Adult dose

For acute diseases, take 200 mg once, three times daily before meals with a small amount of water. For chronic diseases, take 200 mg once, twice daily before meals with a small amount of water.

Child dose

Acute disease (6–14 years): 200 mg once, twice daily before meals with a small amount of water. Chronic disease (6–14 years): 100 mg once, three times daily before meals with a small amount of water.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by anyone who is allergic to this medication or its components. Patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should also not take this medication. In addition, children under 2 years old should not take this medication. This medication contains lactose, so people with genetic disorders who cannot digest lactose should also avoid taking it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should always consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Women who are breastfeeding should also consult with a professional before taking this medication as it is unclear whether this medication passes into breast milk. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, inflammation of the mouth, heartburn, or diarrhea occur during use, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a doctor. Additionally, allergic reactions such as itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, bronchospasm in asthmatics may occur, so caution is advised. If there is a rapid heartbeat or elevated blood pressure, immediately consult a professional. Rarely, severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis may occur, so if any unusual symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately. This medication may reduce the efficacy of certain antibiotics when taken together, so it should be taken at least 2 hours apart from those medications. It is also advisable to avoid mixing this medication with other drugs in solution.
