Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, and patients with phenylketonuria, who cannot metabolize phenylalanine produced from aspartame, should not take it. The amount of aspartame included in this drug is adjusted to not exceed the WHO recommended daily intake, so patients must adhere to the prescribed dosage. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components should avoid taking it. This medication is not a treatment for acute asthma attacks, so emergency medication must be carried at all times in case of acute symptoms. When tapering off inhaled corticosteroids, patients must follow their doctor's instructions and should not abruptly switch to other medications. While taking this medication, psychiatric symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and hallucinations may occur, so if any of these symptoms arise, the doctor should be consulted immediately. Do not use this drug alone for bronchospasm caused by exercise, and continue to use inhaled beta-agonists as needed. Patients with hypersensitivity to aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) should avoid taking these medications while taking this drug. Serious side effects, such as vasculitis or eosinophilia, may rarely occur while taking this medication; therefore, if skin rash, respiratory symptoms worsening, etc., are observed, immediate medical consultation is required. There have been no specific reports of interactions when used with other asthma prevention and treatment medications, but observation by a doctor is needed when taken with medications that induce certain liver metabolic enzymes. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor about taking this medication, and due to limited safety data for pregnant and lactating women, cautious administration is warranted. Pediatric patients can use this medication safely; however, safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 6 months of age. Elderly patients can also use it without special dosage adjustments, but caution is advised as their reactions to the medication may vary. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so treatment and observation for common symptoms are necessary, and strict adherence to the dosage is essential. This medication is sensitive to light, so packaging should only be opened immediately before use, and it should be taken right after preparation. It should be stored out of reach of children. Continue taking the medication regularly even if there are no symptoms; if asthma symptoms worsen, consult a doctor immediately.
