Improvement of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (seasonal, perennial), nasal polyps, and acute sinusitis.
This medication is used to alleviate symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. It is particularly useful for patients with moderate to severe seasonal allergic rhinitis and can be taken prophylactically 2-4 weeks before the pollen season begins. Additionally, it is effective for the treatment of nasal polyps in adults aged 18 and older. It is also used for the treatment of severe acute sinusitis without bacterial infection in adolescents aged 12 years and older and adults. This medication helps improve symptoms related to allergies and rhinitis.
1. Allergic Rhinitis Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents aged 12 years and older: Generally, 2 sprays per nostril once daily (total daily dosage of 0.2 mg). When symptoms are alleviated, the maintenance dosage can be reduced to 1 spray per nostril (total daily dosage of 0.1 mg). If symptoms do not improve, the dosage can be increased to a maximum of 4 sprays per nostril once daily (total daily dosage of 0.4 mg).
2. Children aged 2 to 11 years: Generally, 1 spray per nostril once daily (total daily dosage of 0.1 mg).

This drug should be used with caution in some patients. Patients with active tuberculosis or untreated systemic infections, and those with ocular herpes need to be cautious. Patients who have recurrent nosebleeds should be careful, as bleeding may worsen. Patients who are at risk for chickenpox or measles should also be cautious when using this drug. Additionally, immediate hypersensitivity reactions such as bronchospasm or difficulty breathing can occur after intranasal administration, and immediate treatment should be sought if symptoms appear. Long-term high-dose use may result in systemic corticosteroid side effects. When this medication is used for an extended period, the condition of the nasal mucosa should be regularly monitored, and if a local fungal infection develops, discontinuation or treatment may be necessary. Patients transitioning from corticosteroid treatment to this medication should be aware of adrenal insufficiency symptoms, and withdrawal symptoms may occur but the medication should be continued. Patients at high risk of infection should avoid exposure to infections like chickenpox or measles and seek medical attention immediately if infected. In children, the growth rate may slow down with administration, so regular monitoring is necessary. Safety in children under 2 years of age has not been established. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, so they should be observed closely during use. In the case of overdose, systemic absorption is low and no special treatment is necessary, but the potential for corticosteroid side effects should be considered.
