Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients who are allergic to the ingredients of this medication or have experienced hypersensitivity reactions to beta-lactam antibiotics should not take this medication. Patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia should also avoid this medication. Patients who have had liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this medication or penicillin-related drugs in the past should not use it. Patients with impaired liver function should use this medication with caution. Patients with moderate to severe kidney impairment may also need to adjust the dosing interval as the drug concentration in the blood may increase. Patients with an allergic constitution or those who have symptoms of bronchial asthma, skin rashes, etc., should take this medication cautiously. Additionally, patients who have difficulty with oral intake, elderly patients, or those with poor general health may show symptoms of vitamin K deficiency, so caution is required. Patients with gastrointestinal symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea may have impaired drug absorption and should be cautious. While taking this medication, a variety of side effects may occur. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain are common, and serious problems such as gastritis or acute pancreatitis may rarely occur. Liver function abnormalities have also been reported, especially more frequently in elderly men, and caution should be observed with prolonged use. Skin reactions such as itching, rashes, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Blood-related side effects such as leukopenia or thrombocytopenia have been reported rarely. In the central nervous system, headaches, dizziness, and seizures may rarely occur, and patients with poor kidney function may be at risk of renal failure. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, you must inform your doctor or pharmacist. Special caution is needed when used in combination with drugs that affect blood coagulation, certain antibiotics, or anticancer drugs. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, so this should also be taken into consideration. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication. Especially during the first three months of pregnancy, it is advisable not to use this medication, and breastfeeding women should also be cautious as the medication may be transmitted in breast milk, potentially causing diarrhea or allergic reactions in the baby. For children, it is only recommended for those over 12 years of age or weighing over 40 kg, as there is less usage experience for younger children. Elderly patients may experience side effects more easily due to decreased bodily functions, so the dosage and dosing intervals should be adjusted while closely monitoring their condition. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms may primarily occur, but there may also be rare cases of kidney dysfunction or neurological abnormalities, so if symptoms appear, immediate discontinuation and medical assistance is necessary.
