Patients with liver disease or a history of liver disease should be cautious as liver function may worsen when using this drug. This medication may cause allergic symptoms such as rashes, urticaria, and swelling of the face or extremities, and if such symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment sought. Caution is also necessary as symptoms such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, insomnia, and nightmares may occur. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and dry mouth may occur, and if symptoms are severe, medical advice should be sought. Since liver function abnormalities may occur, if liver enzymes increase or yellowing of the skin appears, medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor's consultation sought. This medication may affect kidney function and cause proteinuria, and similar symptoms to cystitis or urinary retention may occur; therefore, abnormalities should be monitored closely. Symptoms such as increased heart rate or respiratory symptoms like shortness of breath and nasal congestion may rarely occur, necessitating observation. Blood disorders such as thrombocytopenia or leukocytosis may develop, so any unusual reactions should be reported to medical personnel. Rarely reported symptoms include gynecomastia, menstrual irregularities, and chest pain; if such changes occur, consultation with a specialist is necessary. The safety of this medication has not been sufficiently confirmed for children, especially low-birth-weight infants, neonates, young children, and minors, so caution is needed.
