Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction to this drug or its components. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation, as it may exacerbate their condition by stimulating gastrointestinal motility. This drug contains lactose and should not be used in patients who are genetically intolerant to lactose. Careful monitoring of symptoms is necessary as serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur during use. As there may be changes in liver function, treatment should be discontinued immediately and medical attention sought if there are alterations in liver enzyme levels. During use, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and increased salivation may occur. Neurological symptoms such as headaches, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and dizziness have also been reported, and if these symptoms are severe, consultation with medical personnel is advised. Endocrine abnormalities such as gynecomastia or elevated prolactin levels may occur, and if unusual symptoms arise, treatment should be discontinued. Regular blood tests are required as there may be decreases in platelet or white blood cell counts, and if abnormalities are found, treatment should be stopped immediately. It may affect kidney function, leading to elevated blood levels of BUN or creatinine, so careful monitoring of kidney status is necessary. Allergic reactions such as skin rash, redness, and itching may occur infrequently; if these symptoms manifest, treatment should be discontinued. Extrapyramidal symptoms such as tremors may occur, so if neurological changes develop, medical personnel should be notified immediately. This medicine enhances the action of acetylcholine, and this should be taken into consideration. It should not be used long-term if gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve. If taken alongside anticholinergics, the effects of this medication may be diminished, so caution is needed with regard to dosage intervals. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only use this medication when the therapeutic benefit outweighs the risk, as its safety has not been established. If nursing, it is advisable to avoid this medication as it may be excreted in breast milk; if it must be used, breastfeeding should be discontinued. The safety of this medication in children has not been sufficiently verified, and it should be administered to children with caution. Elderly patients may exhibit more pronounced adverse reactions due to decreased physiological functions, so symptoms should be monitored closely, and dosage adjustments should be made as necessary. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to other containers should be avoided as it may lead to quality deterioration or accidents.
