Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients. It should not be administered to patients with liver cirrhosis or cystathionine synthase deficiency as it may affect methionine metabolism. This medication is also not safe for patients with peptic ulcers. Patients with severely impaired kidney function and patients with severe liver impairment should not take this medication. Patients with mild to moderate liver impairment should be cautious when using this medication and should not exceed 300 mg per day. Patients with diabetes or those on a low-calorie diet should be particularly careful when using this medication in syrup form. Overdosing this medication may lead to excessive sweating, dizziness, and flushing. Neurological and respiratory adverse reactions such as headache, cold symptoms, and difficulty breathing may occur. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as altered taste, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and heartburn may also occur. Skin changes such as hives, red spots, and eczema should be monitored. Various adverse reactions possibly related to this medication, including fatigue, indigestion, palpitations, swelling of the face or body, itching, and weakness, have also been reported. Using this medication together with cough medication can make it difficult to expel phlegm, increasing the risk of bronchial infections and bronchoconstriction, so caution is advised when taking them together. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should avoid this medication due to uncertain safety.
