Precautions

This medication is used to alleviate the symptoms of overactive bladder by controlling the muscles of the bladder. However, it should not be used in patients with symptoms of poor urinary excretion, severe gastrointestinal diseases, severe muscle weakness, or certain patients with glaucoma. Additionally, patients who have an allergy to this drug or its ingredients, those undergoing dialysis, or those with severe liver or kidney dysfunction should not be administered this medication. It is also unsuitable for patients with genetic lactose intolerance. Patients at risk for urinary obstruction or gastrointestinal blockage, those with moderate to severe kidney or liver dysfunction, or those who are taking certain drugs simultaneously require special caution when using this medication. This medication can commonly cause side effects such as dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, urinary retention, and dry eyes, with these symptoms potentially occurring more frequently at higher doses. In severe cases, significant adverse reactions such as intestinal obstruction or angioedema may occur, so if symptoms are severe, immediate consultation with medical personnel is advised. This medication can cause symptoms such as drowsiness or blurred vision when driving or operating machinery, so caution is required. Furthermore, since this drug is metabolized by specific enzymes in the liver, dosage adjustments may be necessary when taken with other medications that inhibit or induce these enzymes. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a physician before using this medication, and safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed, so it is advisable not to use it in pediatric patients. In the case of overdose, central nervous system symptoms, visual disturbances, and dry mouth may appear, which may require immediate treatment. It is advisable not to use this medication concurrently with other anticholinergic drugs, as this may increase the drug's effect or exacerbate side effects. This medication has been confirmed to be non-genotoxic and unlikely to induce tumors, and it has been reported not to affect reproductive capability.
