Prevention of asthma and relief of allergy rhinitis symptoms
This medication helps prevent asthma attacks and provides continuous treatment. It is also used to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.
Adults and adolescents 15 years and older should take 10 mg of montelukast orally once daily. Alternatively, take 10 mg once daily by placing it on the tongue and allowing it to dissolve without water.
Children aged 2-5 years should chew 4 mg of montelukast once daily or place it on the tongue and swallow without water. Alternatively, take 4 mg orally once daily. Children aged 6-14 years should take montelukast 5 mg once daily.
This drug is used for the treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis. During treatment with this drug, various neuropsychiatric symptoms such as agitation, anxiety, depression, hallucinations, and suicidal thoughts may rarely occur, and if such symptoms arise while taking the medication, you should consult your doctor immediately. This drug contains the artificial sweetener aspartame and should be avoided by patients with phenylketonuria, and the daily allowable dosage of aspartame is also limited. Patients unable to digest lactose should not take this medication. This drug is not intended for the emergency treatment of acute asthma attacks, so appropriate emergency medication should be used when acute symptoms occur. Patients with exercise-induced bronchospasm should not use this drug alone but should continue to use inhaled bronchodilators as directed by their physician. Patients who are hypersensitive to aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should avoid taking these medications simultaneously while taking this drug. This medication may rarely cause various adverse reactions such as vasculitis, liver dysfunction, skin rashes, myalgia, and nocturnal enuresis, so if any unusual symptoms appear, inform your healthcare provider. If you are pregnant or nursing, you should only take this medication after consulting your doctor if necessary, and caution is needed for children and the elderly as well. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so general treatment and observation according to the symptoms are required. Store this medication out of reach of children and avoid transferring it to another container. When taking this medication, it is important to follow your doctor's instructions and consult immediately if symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear.
Hives, angioedema, toxic epidermal necrosis, mucocutaneous syndrome, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough+fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe lethargy, sudden and severe headache, lightning headache, seizures, loss of consciousness

This medication may be sensitive to air, moisture, and light, so it should be stored in a tightly closed container. The storage temperature should be maintained between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius (room temperature). Proper storage will help preserve the medication's effectiveness.
