This medication is used for respiratory diseases such as acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis where expectoration of mucus is difficult.

How to take

Adult dose

Acute disease: 200 mg once, 3 times a day Chronic disease: 200 mg once, 2 times a day

Child dose

Acute disease (ages 6-14): 200 mg once, 2 times a day Chronic disease (ages 6-14): 100 mg once, 3 times a day Cystic fibrosis (ages 6 and above): 200 mg once, 3 times a day

Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this drug or its components. Also, individuals with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should not take this medication. Children under 2 years of age should not take this drug. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Breastfeeding women should also consult a healthcare professional before taking this drug due to uncertainty about it being excreted in breast milk. During the use of this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, oral inflammation, heartburn, and diarrhea may occur, and care should be taken. Moreover, allergic reactions can occur, such as hives, itching, rash, headache, ear ringing, and bronchospasm; if abnormal symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Rarely, there may be increased heart rate or elevated blood pressure, and very rarely, a severe allergic reaction known as anaphylaxis may occur. If you experience difficulty breathing during the use of this medication, consult a doctor immediately. This drug may reduce the effectiveness of certain oral antibiotics, so it is advisable to take them at least 2 hours apart. Additionally, do not mix other drugs with the solution of this medication. Medications should be stored out of reach of children and kept in their original packaging to maintain quality and prevent misuse.
