Precautions

This drug is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by destroying the cell wall of certain bacteria. It should not be used in patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock due to this medication. Patients who have had allergies to this drug or similar antibiotics should also avoid its use. Care must be taken when administering it to patients with allergies to penicillin-based antibiotics, those with asthma or a tendency to exhibit allergic symptoms such as skin rash, and patients with severely impaired kidney function. Patients who have difficulty with oral intake, elderly patients with poor nutritional status, and patients with gastrointestinal diseases should also be monitored closely. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as shock and anaphylaxis can occur when using this medication, so symptoms should be carefully monitored. Serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, where severe rashes or blisters develop, can occur, so caution is warranted. Blood-related adverse reactions such as decreased blood cell counts may occur, necessitating regular monitoring. Rarely, liver dysfunction or kidney failure may develop, so liver and kidney function should be consistently monitored. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting may occur, with severe cases potentially leading to colitis; symptoms should be reported immediately. If unusual respiratory symptoms develop, treatment should be discontinued immediately and appropriate care sought. Central nervous system symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, and hallucinations can occur rarely. This medication can lead to dysbiosis, such as oral inflammation or candidiasis. Bleeding tendencies due to vitamin K deficiency or symptoms of vitamin B complex deficiency may appear, requiring caution. Interactions may occur when used with other medications, so it is essential to inform a doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should be cautious with its use as safety may be compromised. It is advisable not to use this drug in infants younger than 1 month as its safety has not been established. Elderly patients may have an increased risk of adverse reactions due to declining body functions; thus, monitoring dosage and administration intervals is crucial. It is important to use this drug only for the minimum duration required for treatment to prevent the emergence of resistant organisms. This medication may influence urinalysis or blood test results, so inform medical professionals of its use during testing.
