How to take

Adult dose

This medication is taken orally and can be administered at any time of the day, with or without meals. Adults should take 2 mg once daily. Elderly patients aged 65 years and older start with an initial dose of 1 mg once daily and may be increased to 2 mg once daily if necessary. Patients with severe kidney impairment and severe liver disease should take 1 mg once daily. Patients with mild to moderate kidney or liver impairment do not require dose adjustments.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to the ingredients or additives of this medication, those with severely impaired kidney function, those with serious problems in their intestines, and those with genetic disorders causing lactose intolerance should not take this medication. For patients with severe kidney damage, the dosage of this medication should be reduced and used cautiously. Additionally, caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with serious diseases of the liver, heart, lungs, or nervous system. This medication should also be used carefully in patients with a history of arrhythmia or ischemic heart disease, and it is advisable to reduce the dosage for patients with severe hepatic impairment. Caution is required when taking this medication together with other drugs that can prolong the QT interval. The most commonly reported side effects during treatment with this medication are gastrointestinal symptoms such as headache, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea.
