This medication is used to relieve sputum discharge difficulties in acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Acute disease: 200 mg once, three times a day Chronic disease: 200 mg once, twice a day

Children's dosage

Acute disease (6-14 years): 200 mg once, twice a day Chronic disease (6-14 years): 100 mg once, three times a day Cystic fibrosis (6 years and older): 200 mg once, three times a day

Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this medicine or its ingredients. Patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should also refrain from taking this medicine. Children under the age of two should not use this medicine. Additionally, as this medicine contains lactose, individuals with a genetic inability to digest lactose should avoid it. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medicine. It is uncertain whether this medicine is excreted in breast milk, so it is advisable for nursing mothers to consult an expert before taking it. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, inflammation of the mouth, heartburn, or diarrhea occur during administration, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Likewise, if symptoms such as hives, itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, or bronchospasm occur in asthma patients, cease taking this medicine and consult an expert. Rarely, there may be rapid heartbeat or increased blood pressure, so caution is advised. If symptoms of difficulty in breathing appear while taking this medicine, discontinue use immediately and visit a hospital. When taken with oral antibiotics, the effectiveness of the antibiotics may be reduced, so it is important to space the doses by at least two hours. When using this medicine in solution form, it is best not to mix it with other medications. Keep this medicine in a safe place out of reach of children, and store it in its original container to prevent misuse or deterioration of quality.
