Ripalon Tablets (Limaprost Alpha-Dex)

Adult dose

1. For improvement of ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and coldness due to thromboangiitis obliterans (Buerger’s disease), the usual adult dose is 2 tablets orally 3 times daily. 2. For improvement of subjective symptoms (lower-limb pain and numbness) and walking ability due to acquired lumbar spinal stenosis (in patients with normal SLR test results and bilateral intermittent claudication), the usual adult dose is 1 tablet orally 3 times daily. The dose may be adjusted according to age and symptoms.

This medication should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. It contains lactose, so patients with genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, and glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Patients with a tendency to bleed or those taking antiplatelet drugs, thrombolytics, or anticoagulants should use this medication with caution. During treatment, allergic reactions such as rash or itching may occur; if such symptoms appear, use should be stopped immediately. Rarely, bleeding may occur, so symptoms should be carefully monitored and administration should be stopped if abnormalities arise. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, decreased appetite, and heartburn may occur. Liver function abnormalities may arise, so it is advisable to regularly check liver values (AST, ALT). Rare symptoms such as palpitations, low blood pressure, and cyanosis of the extremities may occur, so caution is necessary. Various side effects may occur, including headaches, facial flushing, dizziness, feelings of heat, fatigue, swelling, tremors, hirsutism, and anemia. Patients with lumbar spinal canal stenosis should decide whether to continue using this medication while observing symptom changes, and in severe cases requiring surgery, the effectiveness of this medication is uncertain. Safety during pregnancy has not been established, and uterine contractions have been reported in animal experiments, so pregnant women should not take it. Safety has not been confirmed in children, and there is no experience of use. Elderly patients may have decreased physical function, so dosage adjustment and caution are needed. Healthy adults should be cautious as taking a large amount may temporarily lower blood pressure.
