This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs. Particularly, caution is necessary for patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as they have a higher risk of rash. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should also be cautious when using this medication, as it may worsen liver function. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may need to adjust the dosing interval, as the drug concentration may become elevated. Individuals with allergic tendencies or those prone to bronchial asthma and skin rashes should take caution when taking this medication. Elderly patients or those in poor general health, and those who have difficulty swallowing, may have a risk of bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency, thus monitoring is necessary. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur; if severe diarrhea or bloody stools appear, medication should be discontinued immediately. Symptoms of liver dysfunction may arise during or after treatment, making liver function testing necessary, especially with prolonged use. Rarely, severe skin reactions or anaphylactic shock may occur. If an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately and follow the doctor’s instructions. Blood tests may reveal leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, or anemia, so regular testing is necessary. Central nervous system side effects such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures may infrequently occur, so any unusual symptoms should be reported immediately. As this drug is excreted via the kidneys, patients with impaired kidney function will require dosage adjustments and regular kidney function testing. Antibiotic use can cause an imbalance in intestinal bacteria leading to infections such as candidiasis, requiring treatment if symptoms appear. This medication can cause vitamin K deficiency, so patients at risk of bleeding should exercise caution, and regular assessments of liver, kidney, and blood function should be conducted, especially with long-term use. During pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, use should be avoided, and during breastfeeding, if side effects occur in the infant, the medication should be discontinued. It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years or those weighing less than 40 kg due to limited experience. This medication may interact with other drugs, so consult with a doctor or pharmacist when administering concurrently. In the event of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and seizures may appear, and it is essential to inform medical personnel immediately for appropriate intervention. Storage should be in a sealed container in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and it is crucial to check for allergy history and current health status before use.
