How to take
Adult dose
As cetylpyridinium chloride, dissolve 1.5 mg (1 sheet) slowly in the mouth without chewing or swallowing, 4 to 5 times a day. Adjust as appropriate according to age and symptoms.
Precautions
This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is converted to phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, it should not be taken by patients with the hereditary disease phenylketonuria. The daily allowable amount of aspartame should be limited to below the recommended amount by the World Health Organization, using the minimum possible amount. For example, for a 60 kg adult, care should be taken not to exceed a maximum of 2.4 g per day. Individuals who are prone to allergic contact dermatitis should use this medication cautiously. If symptoms of hypersensitivity such as rash or urticaria appear during use, discontinue use immediately. Also, be cautious as symptoms might include neurological symptoms such as high fever or headache, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea. If a rash, ulceration, or burning sensation occurs in the mouth, this medication should be discontinued. It is safer not to administer this medication to children under the age of 3, as they are at risk of swallowing it. When taking the medication, it should be slowly dissolved in the mouth without chewing or swallowing, and it should be kept in the mouth for as long as possible for the effect to be effective. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, dry place. It should not be transferred to another container, and misuse should be prevented.
