Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn, especially during pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with a history of allergy to this medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with severe liver dysfunction or biliary excretion disorders should not take this medication. Care should also be taken with patients who have hereditary angioedema or a history of angioedema, severe renal impairment, and those with diabetes taking certain medications. Elderly patients or those with hyperkalemia, impaired liver function, heart valve disease, ischemic heart disease, or cerebrovascular disorders should use this medication cautiously. While this medication lowers blood pressure, various side effects such as dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, angioedema, worsening kidney function, liver function abnormalities, and myalgia may sometimes occur; hence, caution is necessary. If symptoms of hypoglycemia or angioedema appear, it is essential to stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Patients with kidney disease or undergoing dialysis should have regular blood tests to monitor kidney function and electrolyte levels. In cases of decreased blood volume, symptoms of hypotension may worsen, so it's important to check the condition before taking the medication and receive fluid therapy if needed. This medication may enhance the effects when taken with other antihypertensives, so consult your doctor regarding drug interactions. Particularly, caution is required when combined with other RAAS inhibitors, lithium, NSAIDs, and potassium-sparing diuretics as the risk of side effects may increase. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take this medication, and it is also advisable to avoid it while breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18 years, so it is not recommended. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and acute renal failure may occur; therefore, adhere to the prescribed dosage and report any unusual symptoms to a healthcare professional immediately.
