Precautions

This medication contains beta-lactam antibiotics and should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to this ingredient, penicillin, or cephalosporin antibiotics. Particularly, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia should be cautious, as the risk of skin rash increases. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice should avoid this medication, as symptoms may reappear. Patients with compromised liver function or moderate to severe kidney impairment should use this medication cautiously under medical supervision, as the drug may remain in the body longer, increasing the risk of side effects. Patients with allergic tendencies or those who easily show symptoms such as bronchial asthma or skin rash should also be careful. Patients with severe gastrointestinal diseases causing vomiting or diarrhea, patients who have difficulty taking orally, elderly patients, and those in poor general condition may also experience vitamin K deficiency symptoms while taking this medication, so caution is advised. This medication may cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting, and in severe cases, can lead to serious colitis such as pseudomembranous colitis, so if symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. Liver dysfunction symptoms have also been reported, especially in elderly males over 60, who should have regular liver function tests and avoid prolonged use beyond 14 days. Rarely, skin rashes, itching, severe allergic reactions, or anaphylactic shock may occur, so if rash or respiratory distress symptoms appear, the medication should be stopped immediately and emergency treatment sought. Blood-related disorders such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia have been reported, so blood tests may be necessary with long-term use. Central nervous system symptoms such as anxiety, confusion, and seizures may occur, so if these symptoms appear, the doctor should be informed immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, particularly anticoagulants, anti-inflammatories, and oral contraceptives, so caution is necessary when taking these together. Avoid use during the first three months of pregnancy, and pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking it, as side effects may occur in infants during breastfeeding. Not recommended for children under 12 years or weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients should use with caution, adjusting doses and intervals of administration due to the increased risk of side effects from diminished body function. It is essential to regularly test liver function, kidney function, and blood status while taking this medication to ensure no abnormalities. In the event of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, and seizures may occur, so the medication should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment sought.
