Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be administered to patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins, particularly those with a history of anaphylaxis or severe skin reactions. It is also advisable to avoid this medication in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia, as they are at a higher risk of developing rashes. Patients who have previously experienced jaundice or hepatic dysfunction due to this medication or penicillins should also avoid administration. Patients with compromised liver function or moderate to severe renal impairment should use this medication carefully, regulating the dose and interval. Patients with a history of allergies, those who have difficulty swallowing, the elderly, and those in poor general health should also take caution. This medication can cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in rare cases, serious adverse effects like colitis or acute pancreatitis may occur. Should any unusual symptoms appear, discontinue the medication and consult a physician immediately. Reports of hepatic dysfunction symptoms have also been noted, particularly in elderly patients or males, so liver function tests are necessary with prolonged use. Furthermore, severe allergic reactions such as skin rashes, urticaria, anaphylactic shock may occur infrequently; therefore, discontinue the use of the drug should any unusual symptoms manifest. Changes in blood tests, such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, or hemolytic anemia, have been reported rarely; regular blood tests are recommended. Central nervous system symptoms such as rare headaches, seizures, and confusion may also occur, and attention to renal function is necessary. This drug may interact with other medications, particularly anticoagulants or when combined with specific antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs. It may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, requiring additional contraceptive methods if necessary. The safety of this medication is not established in the early stages of pregnancy or during pregnancy; thus, it should only be used if absolutely necessary. During breastfeeding, it may cause diarrhea or allergic reactions in infants, and administration should be discontinued if adverse symptoms arise. Use in children, especially those under 12 years old or weighing less than 40 kg, is not recommended. In the elderly, the risk of adverse effects is higher due to diminished physiological function; therefore, careful observation of dosage and intervals is necessary. Regular tests for liver function, kidney function, and blood tests are required during the course of medication. In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately for appropriate treatment. Store in a tightly sealed container, avoiding moisture, and keep in a cool place between 1 and 25 degrees Celsius. This storage will help maintain the drug's efficacy over time.
