Before using this drug, it should not be used if there has been a history of severe allergic reactions or shock from this drug or similar classes of antibiotics. It should be used with caution in patients allergic to penicillin antibiotics or with a history of asthma, rashes, or allergies. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, elderly patients, patients with poor nutritional status, or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases should also use this drug with caution. Rarely, shock, severe allergic reactions, severe skin rashes, or skin necrosis may occur, and if symptoms appear, medication should be stopped immediately, and medical treatment should be sought. Blood tests may show abnormalities such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia, so regular testing is necessary, and any unusual symptoms should be reported. Liver or kidney function abnormalities can occur, so liver and kidney function tests should be performed periodically, and if abnormalities are found, the drug should be discontinued. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and severe colitis may develop, so if symptoms are severe, medical attention should be sought immediately.
