Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, and should not be used in patients with a hereditary disease called phenylketonuria. Care should be taken not to exceed the maximum daily intake of aspartame, which should not exceed 2.4g for adults. Patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to this medication or beta-lactam antibiotics should not be administered this medication, and it is also advisable to avoid use in patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia due to the risk of rash. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this medication or penicillin should also avoid its use due to the risk of recurrence. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so it should not be used in patients with hereditary issues such as lactose intolerance or galactose intolerance. Patients with poor liver or kidney function should use this medication cautiously, and those with severe kidney impairment should adjust the dosing interval. Patients with allergies or a tendency to experience bronchial asthma, rashes, or hives should also be cautious. Patients who have difficulty swallowing orally, elderly patients, and those in poor general health may experience symptoms of vitamin K deficiency and should be monitored. This medication can affect the gastrointestinal tract, leading to symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and immediate discontinuation is required if severe diarrhea or abdominal pain occurs. Rarely, symptoms of liver dysfunction may occur, more commonly in males over 60, with the risk increasing with longer treatment duration. Hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, itching, and severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur, and administration should be immediately stopped if such symptoms occur. Rare reports of blood system abnormalities such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia have been noted, and it may also affect the urinary system and central nervous system. Kidney function may deteriorate suddenly, so regular monitoring is necessary, and treatment should be discontinued if abnormalities are found. This medication can disrupt the balance of intestinal bacteria, leading to conditions such as candidiasis. The tendency for bleeding due to vitamin K deficiency or symptoms of vitamin B complex deficiency may also rarely occur, and caution is necessary. Teeth discoloration may rarely occur, but maintaining good oral hygiene can prevent this. To prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, this medication should only be used for the necessary period, and there is a risk of hypersensitivity reactions, so it is essential to confirm any previous allergies to penicillin-class drugs. Anaphylactic shock and other severe allergic reactions may occur after administration; therefore, patients must be stabilized and monitored, with prompt treatment in emergencies. Diarrhea during antibiotic use raises suspicion of pseudomembranous colitis, and drug use should be stopped immediately. Prolonged use may allow resistant bacteria to develop, so careful monitoring is required for treatment lasting more than 14 days. Patients with impaired liver or kidney function require dosage adjustment, and this medication should be avoided in suspected cases of infectious mononucleosis. If skin rashes, hives, or symptoms of serum sickness develop, drug administration should be stopped immediately, following a doctor's advice. This medication should be shaken well before use, and after preparation, it should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 7 days. It is safe to avoid use during the first 3 months of pregnancy, and since there is a risk of diarrhea or allergic reactions in breastfeeding infants, treatment should be stopped if any abnormalities occur. Caution should be exercised when using in premature or neonates under 2 months of age, as safety has not been established. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more readily due to physiological declines, so caution should be taken regarding dosing and intervals. This medication may affect some clinical test results, so it is advisable to inform the healthcare provider during testing. In cases of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms and kidney dysfunction may occur, and immediate discontinuation and appropriate treatment are necessary. This medication should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and after preparation, it should be refrigerated.
