Precautions

This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to its components or similar drugs. It is particularly advisable to avoid this medication in patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphoblastic leukemia, as they are at increased risk for rashes. Caution is also required in patients with a history of liver dysfunction as the use of this medication may worsen liver functionality. Patients with reduced liver function or severe kidney impairment may have increased blood concentration of the medication and should use it cautiously while adjusting the dosing interval. Patients with allergic predispositions or gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea may also be affected by this medication's efficacy or side effects, so they should be careful. When taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting may occur, and in severe cases, serious side effects such as pseudomembranous colitis may arise, so consulting a physician immediately if abnormal symptoms appear is essential. Rarely, abnormal liver function symptoms may occur, particularly in elderly men aged 60 and above, making liver function tests necessary during long-term use. Skin-related symptoms such as rashes, itching, and severe allergic reactions may occur, necessitating discontinuation and consultation with medical personnel upon any skin abnormalities. Laboratory tests may show leukopenia or thrombocytopenia, so regular blood tests during long-term treatment are recommended. Central nervous system symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, and seizures have been reported, so patients with poor kidney function or those on high doses should be cautious. Women who are pregnant or nursing must consult their physician before using this medication, especially avoiding its use in the first three months of pregnancy. The elderly may experience more side effects due to reduced physical function, necessitating dose adjustment and regular monitoring of their condition. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers of any ongoing medications. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal disturbances, kidney issues, and allergic reactions may occur, so adherence to the prescribed dosage and administration instructions is necessary. The medication should be shaken well before use, and it should be stored in a tightly sealed container away from air and moisture and used within 7 days of preparation, kept in a cool place between 1 to 25 degrees Celsius.
