Precautions

This medication works by binding to certain proteins and disrupting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby killing the bacteria. This medicine should not be used in patients who have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock due to this drug or similar classes of antibiotics. Additionally, it should not be given to patients with genetically inherited conditions that prevent proper lactose breakdown, due to lactose present in this medication. Patients with a history of allergy to penicillin or with family instances of asthma or skin allergies should use this medication with caution. Patients with severely impaired kidney function or those who are malnourished or elderly should also use this medication carefully, as symptoms of vitamin K deficiency may appear and monitoring is necessary. Patients who have experienced abdominal pain or diarrhea, especially those with a history of colitis with bloody stools, should be administered this medication with caution. This drug can rarely cause shock, systemic allergic reactions, severe skin reactions, blood disorders, liver and kidney dysfunction, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory problems, or central nervous system symptoms. If any of these symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a physician is advised. It is recommended to use this medication for the minimum duration necessary to avoid the development of resistant bacteria, and it is advisable to check the sensitivity of the infecting organism before treatment. This drug may interact with other medications, and especially those affecting the kidneys or anticoagulants, oral contraceptives, should be discussed with a physician or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication cautiously when necessary, and nursing mothers should also be cautious as the drug may be secreted in small amounts in breast milk. For newborns under one month old, use should be avoided as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. Elderly patients may exhibit side effects more readily due to decreased bodily functions, so dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted and closely monitored. This medication may affect the results of certain clinical tests, so it is important to inform healthcare personnel about its use during testing.
