Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with several serious diseases related to the heart. For example, it can be risky to administer to patients with acute myocardial infarction or acute heart failure, and patients with severely impaired cardiac function such as congestive heart failure. Additionally, patients with initial hemorrhagic injuries or orthostatic regulation disorders, and those who have previously shown allergic reactions to this medication should not take this drug. Caution is also necessary for patients with a history of kidney stones or hyperoxaluria. Patients with impaired liver function, those at risk of seizures, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, and breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication. This medication should be used cautiously in patients with weak kidney function or those with coronary atherosclerosis. When administering, careful monitoring should be performed according to the physician's instructions. Taking this medication can cause neurological symptoms such as seizures, abnormal sensations, anxiety, drowsiness, headaches, or dizziness. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as appetite loss, vomiting, and diarrhea may also occur. Allergic reactions can cause hives, angioedema, and rash, and liver dysfunction can lead to hepatitis, jaundice, or hepatocellular necrosis. It may also affect the kidneys, increasing the risk of urinary disorders or kidney stones. Cardiovascular symptoms such as hypotension, arrhythmias, angina, syncope, and peripheral edema have also been reported. Rarely, blood sugar levels may rise, so patients requiring blood sugar management should be cautious. This medication is not for treating hypertension, and it is important to maintain adequate hydration while taking it. Especially, to prevent the formation of calcium oxalate kidney stones, it is necessary to drink plenty of water. Taking it without water at bedtime may cause esophagitis, so caution is needed. When taken with antihypertensive or antiarrhythmic drugs, the effects of these medications may be enhanced, so consulting a physician is essential. It is safest for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to take this medication, as it can be transferred to breast milk. In case of an overdose, cardiac suppression or seizures may occur, so if these symptoms arise, immediate emergency treatment such as gastric lavage and activated charcoal administration is necessary. In severe cases, devices or drugs that regulate heartbeats may be used, and sedatives are administered in case of convulsions.
